Life skills facilitator (First Aid, CV and CPR) 250 views

Purpose/objective of the position:

The rationale behind this consultancy is to train People of Concern (returnees, IDPs, host community) to provide them with activities which could support them in finding jobs and creating in demands skills. The trainings would serve the beneficiaries to develop competencies in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), delivering first aid and in writing resume, giving them life skills to deal in an effective way with the demands of their personal life and professional carriers.

INTERSOS will contract 1 professional expert in Tikrit with a broad background and experience in delivering First Aid, CPR and How to write your CV courses.

Generic Duty:

The collaborator’s main duties will be divided as follows:

  • First Aid course. S/he will train 5 adults per week in a session of 1 day, 2 weeks per month, for 3 months, at the INTERSOS Community Centre of Tikrit, targeting a total of 30 people;
  • CPR course. S/he will train 5 adults per week in a session of 1 day, 2 weeks per month, for 3 months, at the INTERSOS Community Centre of Tikrit, targeting a total of 30 people;
  • CV writing course. S/he will train 5 participants per week in a session of 2 days, 2 weeks per month, for 3 months, at the INTERSOS Community Centre of Tikrit, targeting a total of 30 people.

Specific Duties:

The expected tasks include the following:

  • Prepare and conduct training sessions for People of Concern according to a prepared cycle alternating CPR, First Aid and Resume writing courses according to the plans mentioned below;
  • Specify relevant curriculum for the activities and provide relevant technical inputs;
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments of the project for referrals of beneficiaries in line with set criteria.

Person Specification:

Education and professional experience:

  • Experience in CPR, First Aid and Resume writing courses (at least 1 year);
  • Experience in delivering vocational training courses/life skills activities;
  • Familiar with civil society organizations and NGOs engagement.

Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Computer literacy (Office Package);
  • Respect and non-discriminatory attitude;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and build their knowledge and skills;
  • Good reporting skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong Arabic language proficiency.

  • 1 cycle of First Aid course where each session has 1-day duration and is facilitated the 1st and 3rd week of each month, for 3 months, to a total of 5 beneficiaries per session (to a total of 10 per month);
  • 1 cycle of CPR course where each session has 1-day duration and is facilitated the 1st and 3rd week of each month, for 3 months, to a total of 5 beneficiaries per session (to a total of 10 per month);

1 cycle of Resume-Writing course where each session has 2-days duration and is facilitated the 2nd and 4th week of each month, for 3 months, to a total of 5 beneficiaries per session (to a total of 10 beneficiaries per month).
