Description

Context/Reporting line:

Under general guidance of the Senior Programme Coordinator (Peace Bldg&Stabl), the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator (Legal Advisor), and the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Assistant, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Support in preparation of events, including workshops, project review meetings and official visits.
  2. Liaise with field teams to extend official communications and updated administrative instructions.
  3. Collect needs from field staff for daily implementation and liaise with admin and finance colleagues to address these.
  4. Support the senior technical assistant in the preparation of cash advances for implementation of legal assistance across field locations.
  5. Support the senior technical assistant and case workers in the field with data management.
  6. Maintain record of all relevant correspondences.
  7. Draft routinary documents, letters and forms related to IOM operational and administrative matters.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education:

  • University degree in related filed from accredited academic institution with 2 years of relevant professional experience, or:
  • Completed High School degree from accredited academic institution with 4 years relevant professional experience.

Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
  • Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and drive for results.
  • Strong computer background including experience with relational database and Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Works effectively in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments.
  • Coordinates actions with emergency response actors and makes use of coordination structures.
  • Support adequate levels of information sharing between internal units, cluster partners, IOM, and other emergency response actors.

 

Languages:

  • Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is required.
