Film Editor

Keepsake Film Studio is a film production company based in Vancouver. We are seeking an experienced Film Editor to join our team on a full-time and permanent basis. The role is ideal for individuals with a creative eye, great attention to detail, and extensive knowledge in the film industry.

Key Responsibilities:

The Film Editor will be responsible to edit films to arrange film segments into sequences to achieve continuity and desired dramatic, comedic, and thematic effects. This includes:

· Working with raw footage to create the finished product

· Manipulating, trimming, and editing film pieces

· Applying sound and/or effects to enhance footage

· Colour grading to enhance footage

· Working closely with others to present a final product

Qualifications:

· A university degree or college diploma in the performing arts, broadcasting, journalism, theatre production or film studies

· Experience in a technical or production occupation in motion pictures, broadcasting or theatre (proficiently demonstrated through past project work and/or reel/portfolio)

· Strong proficiency in the following software: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition Pro, Adobe illustrator, Shotgun, DaVinci Resolve Final Cut Prom & Final Cut X, and EDIUS Pro 9.

Bonus:

· Previous experience editing films in the Food genre and Documentary film genre is considered an asset

· Though not a requirement of the job, fluency in additional languages other than English is considered an asset (especially Kurdish, Turkish, and Farsi)

· Proficiency in PluralEyes software

· Compensation: $20 to $32 per hour based on experience
