The selected intern will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
Supporting desk research for new business development opportunities
Providing research, administrative and logistical support in the management of RTI’s conflict prevention, youth peacebuilding, civil society strengthening and countering violent extremism (CVE) work
Supporting staff in gathering information and coordinating across RTI units for systems development
Contributing to operations and administrative systems management and maintenance
Providing operations and administrative support to USAID projects
Assisting the team with other tasks as needed by the Conflict & Transition, IR&D or business development teams
RTI’s Internship Program emphasizes experiential and mentored learning experiences, providing students and recent degree recipients an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and skills in a meaningful and practical way. Additional Information
This virtual unpaid internship will take place from June 2021 through August 2021. As an academic internship, the selected intern must either receive academic credit or fulfill an academic program requirement. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in international relations, peace and security, political science, public policy, or related major
Fluency in English
Eligible to receive academic credit or fulfill a program requirement
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in qualitative or quantitative research methodologies, preferred
Ability to work independently and willingness to work in a team environment
Experience studying, working, or traveling in developing countries
Comprehension of an additional language, such as Spanish, French, and/or Arabic
