Rotation: 8 weeks on / 4 weeks off

To assist the Operations Manager by maintaining training records for 1 x client dedicated team, client escorting and ensure the daily running of tasks. The Senior Team Leader coordinates the direction and management of 1 x client dedicated APT. He ensures that the team meets the operational and training standards with assistance from the Training Team and fully comply with Control Risks SOPs and approach. He assists in planning for tasks as detailed by Operations Manager and briefs the teams and clients as appropriate. The Senior Team Leader reports to the Operations Manager.

In addition as a qualified medic they will treat any casualties that they encounter during the course of their work.

Requirements

To understand and demonstrate competence in Control Risks Standard Operating Procedures and personal skills

  • Client etiquette, discipline and Control Risks low profile approach.
  • Knowledge of threat and key issues in Iraq.
  • Vehicle and Dismounted Contact and Immediate Action Drills.
  • Advanced First Aid skills based on FPOS-I/FREC medical qualification.
  • Navigation including map, compass and use of GPS.
  • Use of all communications systems both vehicle mounted and hand held.
  • To be fully conversant and comply with Rules of Engagement.
  • To maintain competence in these skills through regular formal assessment.

Management Responsibilities

  • To manage and oversee effective training in line with Control Risks training directives and update training records on a daily basis as directed and priorities by Operations Manager.
  • To direct and manage the client dedicated Armed Protection Team within the region (Centre Baghdad) under direction of Ops Manager.
  • Maintain the program Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and update, re-issue and develop SOPs; in conjunction with the client security personnel.
  • To ensure the team maintain a professional approach, appropriate client etiquette, discipline and presentation.
  • Client liaison to understand future tasks.
  • To ensure that the teams conduct effective administration to include vehicle maintenance, equipment husbandry/accountability and reports and returns.
  • Maintain strong and productive relationships with the Iraq Compliance staff.
  • To manage on a day to day basis the compliance liaison and ops watch keeper staff.
  • Assist in management of team leaders, team TTLs and team members.

Operation Responsibilities

  • Assist in the conduct of risk assessments and task and route planning.
  • Issue orders to team members and brief clients in line with SOPs when required.
  • Conduct venue and route reconnaissance and produce reports.
  • Be able to command the team in contact and issue direction to clients.
  • To ensure APT teams awareness of and adherence to HSE policies.
  • Ensure all Control Risks VP’s are adhered too.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ Iraq/Baghdad commercial APT operational experience.
  • Must be experienced in management related roles.
  • Strong understanding and familiarity with Control Risks operating procedures.
  • Has sufficient knowledge of the implementation of Control Risks training requirements, standards and directives.
  • Must be familiar with, confident and comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Preferred

  • Understanding of HSE issues.
  • Ex-military JNCO or equivalent.
  • Training in leadership skills and performance management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Commercial Team Leader experience.
  • Holds a valid SIA license.
  • FPOS-I/FREC qualified.
  • Control Risks HECPO qualified.
  • HSE qualification.
  • Security Risk Management qualification.
