Description

The fleet mechanic is responsible for.

  • The maintenance of the Iraq vehicle fleet as directed by the ESD/FM Iraq
  • Maintenance of weekly fleet returns and reports (electronic).
  • Maintaining correct stock levels to conduct all scheduled maintenance activity.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide support to Equipment Support Director for operational fleet issues.
  • Undertake scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the Control Risks Iraq vehicle fleet.
  • Ensure all maintenance activity is undertaken in accordance with Control Risks procedures and industry standards.
  • Operation of fleet repair facility in accordance with Fleet SOP and relevant work instruction.
  • Management and accountability of all fleet tooling and associated equipment.
  • Replacement of vehicle tyres and Runflat systems.
  • Ability to undertake vehicle communications installations specifically tracking platforms.
  • Collation of daily job lists and produce job cards for all work undertaken to capture time taken, components used, and costs associated.
  • Management and control of all fleet spares stock levels in liaison with Fleet Manager Iraq.
  • Maintain and report on lifting equipment register.
  • On-call during unsociable hours as and when required to meet operational need.
  • Maintain an understanding of the wider Control Risks activity and be prepared to undertake reasonable tasks outside the logistics department.
  • Where required (Baghdad) maintain daily fuel accounting documentation.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven vehicle mechanic with a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a workshop facility.
  • Operation of tyre changing/balancing machinery, AC equipment and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of and competent in the application of HSE and COSSH policies within automotive workshop facility.
  • Competent use of technical publications (Electronic)
  • Technically proficient with Toyota platforms operated by Control Risks in Iraq.

Preferable

  • Commercial fleet mechanical experience (hostile environment)

Qualifications and specialist skills

  • Previous fleet experience including technical accounting.
  • Toyota trained (Tech Stream).
  • Air conditioning servicing/repair trained.
  • Electrical fault finding and cable installation.
  • Microsoft office proficient
  • The ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
