What you’ll do:
As Chief Accountant based in Salalah, Oman, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial health of the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing end-to-end accounting operations through SAP systems-ensuring every transaction is accurately recorded according to IFRS standards. You will be responsible for producing timely financial statements that inform key business decisions while maintaining rigorous compliance with Omani VAT regulations and corporate tax obligations. Your expertise will be crucial during audits as you liaise with authorities and maintain audit-ready records. In addition to overseeing treasury functions such as cash flow forecasting and working capital optimisation-including AR/AP management-you will lead process improvements across finance modules by leveraging automation tools. You will partner with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights that drive operational efficiency. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or related field is required while a Master’s qualification would be considered advantageous for this position.
- 8-10 years’ experience in accounting roles including three years or more in supervisory or managerial capacities demonstrating your ability to nurture talent within teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) coupled with hands-on experience navigating Oman-specific compliance requirements such as VAT corporate tax payroll labour obligations.
- Mandatory proficiency in SAP FI/CO modules; additional familiarity with Asset Accounting (AA) Materials Management (MM) Sales & Distribution (SD) Project Systems (PS) modules-and S/4HANA-is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party relationships as well as internal stakeholders across multiple departments ensuring seamless communication collaboration throughout projects.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel along with practical experience using Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools for enhanced data analysis presentation capabilities.
- Fluency in English both written spoken enabling clear communication within multinational teams external partners alike.
- High levels of integrity meticulous attention to detail proven track record meeting tight deadlines under pressure without compromising quality outcomes.
- Experience monitoring key performance indicators such as close timeliness audit outcomes compliance accuracy working capital metrics reconciliation backlogs error rates process automation adoption.
