Accountant

Role Summary

The GL Accountant will be responsible for accurate general ledger accounting, timely period close, and strong balance sheet governance. The role will also have a significant focus on VAT and tax compliance, including reviewing VAT filings with tax advisors, supporting audits/assessments, and ensuring correct indirect tax treatment of transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounting for assigned entities and ensure timely, accurate postings.
• Execute month-end/quarter-end/year-end close activities according to the close calendar.
• Perform P&L and balance sheet variance analysis and provide explanations to management.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations (cash, intercompany, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, taxes/VAT, other provisions).
• Provide audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits and internal reviews.
• Prepare/review periodic VAT returns and supporting schedules; ensure filings are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors; support VAT audits, queries, and assessments.
• Partner with AP/AR, Contracts/Projects, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure accurate accounting and tax treatment.
