This job provides accurate interpretive services required by local and international Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients and their families, company staff and lay personnel to facilitate effective communication. Assumes responsibility for all aspects related to LEP patients seeking medical care and treatment at company facilities.

NOTE :
Maybe required to travel to various locations in the Greater New Orleans area.

Education

Required –

High School diploma or equivalent

Two years of college

Work Experience

Two years medical interpretive experience

Certification

Preferred-

Certificate in Medical Interpretation

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Excellent and fluent verbal and written communications in both English and the required language

Knowledge and ability to communicate medical terminology in both English and the required language

Interpersonal skills necessary in order to establish and maintain professional and cooperative relations with internal and external customers

Self-directed including the ability to work independently and make sound judgments in order to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner

Job Duties

Provide accurate verbal and written interpretation/translation services for patients, family members, staff and others.

Provides excellent customer service through effective communication.

Assist patients throughout their visit from arrival to departure.
