Main purpose of the job:

 

Organize and carry out anesthetic medical activities, according to MSF policies, protocols, and universal hygiene standards and in close collaboration with the gynaecologist and other medical staff.Increase the knowledge and practical skills of the anesthetic staff through  bedside training and knowledge transfer in order to ensure the quality of care provided to patients.

The surgical activities in the project are mainly gyneco-obstetric. The anesthetist should feel comfortable dealing with obstetric emergencies, guaranteeing the wellbeing of the mother during the surgery while ad-ministering appropriate anesthetics to ensure the baby is not affected. 

Specifically to be responsible for anesthesia (pre-anesthesia evaluation, administration of an aesthetics, surveillance of the patient during surgery, recovery period, pharmacy, equipment, general organization, etc.) and pre- and post-op care including analgesia

He/she is requested to pay particular attention to hygiene rules and pain management in the post-operative ward

 

الغرض الرئيسي من الوظيفة:

تنظيم وتنفيذ الأنشطة الطبية المخدرة، وفقًا لسياسات منظمة أطباء بلا حدود وبروتوكولاتها ومعايير النظافة الشاملة وبالتعاون الوثيق مع طبيب أمراض النساء والطاقم الطبي الآخر. زيادة المعرفة والمهارات العملية لموظفي التخدير من خلال التدريب بجانب السرير ونقل المعرفة من أجل ضمان جودة الرعاية المقدمة للمرضى.

الأنشطة الجراحية في المشروع هي بشكل أساسي أمراض النساء والتوليد. يجب أن يشعر طبيب التخدير بالراحة في التعامل مع حالات الطوارئ التوليدية، مما يضمن صحة الأم أثناء الجراحة أثناء تقديم مواد التخدير المناسبة لضمان عدم تأثر الطفل.

على وجه التحديد ليكون مسؤولاً عن التخدير (تقييم ما قبل التخدير، وإدارة الجماليات، ومراقبة المريض أثناء الجراحة، وفترة التعافي، والصيدلة، والمعدات، والتنظيم العام، وما إلى ذلك) والرعاية قبل وبعد العملية بما في ذلك المسكنات

يُطلب منه او منها إيلاء اهتمام خاص لقواعد النظافة ومعالجة الألم في جناح ما بعد الجراحة

 

 

• Carry out pre-operative consultations evaluating surgical riskin collaboration with the gynaecologist, providing the pa-tient with appropriate information and deciding the type of anaesthetics to be used to ensure the best conditions prior to the surgery, during the surgery, and after it. Carry-out all anaesthesia related activities during surgery to ensure safe, adequate anaesthesia.
• Preparing beforehand the drugs, material, and equipment required.
• Administering and maintaining anaesthetics following the rules of hygiene and asepsis in force. Mainting communica-tion with the patient throughout the procedure.
• Monitoring patients throughout the intervention.
• Ensure transfer of patients to the recovery room, and full recovery of the patient’s consciousness and setting analgesic protocol
• Advise and follow up on postoperative care , including fluid management, oxygenation monitoring and airway care and chest physiotherapy and mobilization, with special focus on patient’s pain relief during the recovering process and the post-operative care.
• Implement and supervise hygiene rules, procedures and MSF protocols in OT/recovery, anaesthesia material (decon-tamination, sterilization, storage conditions, etc.) to ensure the safety and protection of patients and staff.
• Supervise the OT beside stock (drugs orders, inventories, expired drugs) and ensure OT register, consumptions, empty vials of narcotics, ensuring adequate stock is maintained..
• Ensure good functioning and maintenance of OT equipment (oxygen extractor, ventilation, equipment, etc)
• Organize the tasks of personnel under his/her responsibility, and participate and carry-out other team management activities (training, performance evaluation, motivation, internal/, etc.), in order to ensure having the appropriate team in terms of size, capabilities and skills.
• Collaborate with other departments in the project (responding to accident & emergency department requests, inter-vening in support of other services when needed, etc.), and participate in any emergency activity or exploratory mission, in order to support the overall MSF project with his/her expertise and capabilities.
• Collaboration with OT supervisor, nurses, gynaecologists and other staff to maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control and hygiene in the OT.
• Ensure proper fulfilment of administrative procedures and documents (fill in of patients files, forms, statistics, data base, etc.), and elaborate regular reporting about results, proceedings and problematic situations and cases, in order to have updated and correct information about the day-to-day activity in the project and support decision-taking.

 

 

• إجراء استشارات ما قبل الجراحة لتقييم التعاون الجراحي مع طبيب أمراض النساء، وتزويد المريض بالمعلومات المناسبة وتحديد نوع التخدير الذي سيتم استخدامه لضمان أفضل الظروف قبل الجراحة وأثناء الجراحة وبعدها. القيام بجميع الأنشطة المتعلقة بالتخدير أثناء الجراحة لضمان التخدير الآمن والكافي.
• التحضير المسبق للأدوية والمواد والمعدات المطلوبة.
• إعطاء المخدِّر والحفاظ عليه وفقاً لقواعد النظافة الصحية والتعقيم المطبق. الحفاظ على التواصل مع المريض طوال العملية.
• مراقبة المرضى طوال فترة التدخل.
• ضمان نقل المرضى إلى غرفة التعافي واستعادة المريض لوعيه الكامل وتحديد بروتوكول للمسكن
• تقديم المشورة والمتابعة بشأن الرعاية بعد الجراحة، بما في ذلك إدارة السوائل ومراقبة الأكسجين والعناية بمجرى الهواء والعلاج الطبيعي للصدر والحركة، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على تخفيف آلام المريض أثناء عملية التعافي والرعاية بعد الجراحة.

 

• تنفيذ قواعد النظافة وإجراءاتها وبروتوكولات منظمة أطباء بلا حدود والإشراف عليها في غرفة العمليات والافاقة، ومواد التخدير (إزالة التلوث، والتعقيم، وظروف التخزين، وما إلى ذلك) لضمان سلامة وحماية المرضى والموظفين.
• الإشراف على غرفة العملية بالاضافة للمخزن (طلبيات الادوية، والجرد، والعقاقير المنتهية الصلاحية) والتأكد من سجل غرفة العمليات ، والاستهلاك، وزجاجات المخدر الفارغة، وضمان الحفاظ على المخزون الكافي.
• ضمان حسن تشغيل وصيانة معدات غرف العمليات (مستخرج الأكسجين، والتهوية، والمعدات، وما إلى ذلك)
• تنظيم مهام الموظفين الخاضعين لمسؤوليته\ها، والمشاركة وتنفيذ أنشطة أخرى لإدارة الفرق (التدريب، وتقييم الأداء، والتحفيز، والداخلية/وما إلى ذلك)، من أجل ضمان وجود الفريق المناسب من حيث الحجم والقدرات والمهارات.
• التعاون مع الإدارات الأخرى في المشروع (الاستجابة لطلبات إدارة الحوادث والطوارئ، والتدخل لدعم الخدمات الأخرى عند الحاجة، وما إلى ذلك)، والمشاركة في أي نشاط طارئ أو مهمة استكشافية، من أجل دعم مشروع أطباء بلا حدود بشكل عام بخبرته وقدراته.
• التعاون مع مشرف غرفة العمليات والممرضات وأطباء النسائية وغيرهم من الموظفين للحفاظ على أعلى معايير الوقاية من العدوى ومكافحتها والنظافة الصحية في غرفة العملية.
• ضمان التنفيذ السليم للإجراءات والوثائق الإدارية (ملء الملفات والاستمارات والإحصاءات وقاعدة البيانات الخاصة بالمرضى، وما إلى ذلك)، ووضع تقارير منتظمة عن النتائج والإجراءات والحالات والمعوقات، من أجل الحصول على معلومات كاملة وصحيحة عن النشاط اليومي في المشروع ودعم اتخاذ القرارات.

Specific requirements for the role:

 

• Education: Essential anaesthesia speciality degree.
• Experience: minimum 2 years of practical experience as anaesthetist doctor is mandatory
• Desirable: 2 years of previous experience with MSF or other International NGO’s
• Languages: Desirable English; Fluency in Arabic
• For applicants with foreign certificates, Iraqi recognised state-diploma is required.
• For applicants registered under DOH Ninewa, a non-objection letter should be provided only if the staff is selected
