Summary

  • Recommend and serve wines to guests, ensuring proper presentation and pairing with menu items
  • Maintain accurate inventory of wines and update wine lists as required
  • Ensure compliance with proper storage standards, hygiene, and hotel policies for wine service
  • Monitor wine stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to the supervisor or manager
  • Assist in organizing wine tastings and promotional events for guests
  • Handle guest queries regarding wine selection and provide professional advice
  • Maintain records of wine sales and contribute to achieving upselling targets
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless food and wine pairing
  • Support in training service staff on wine knowledge and proper serving techniques
  • Stay updated on wine trends, regions, and vintages to enhance guest experience

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or specialized wine studies (e.g., WSET Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in wine service or as a waiter with strong wine knowledge
  • Good understanding of wine regions, varietals, and food pairing principles
  • Excellent communication and guest interaction skills with a passion for wine
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high service standards in a luxury environment
