  1. Operate and utilize designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to complete assignments.
  2. Meet the required efficiency set by the doctors/department.
  3. Provide quality transcription of the dictated or written reports by the use of proper resources and proofreading of own work.
  4. Follow department’s/doctors’ formats in doing reports. Understand diverse accents and varying dictation styles.
  5. Identify mistakes in reports, and check with doctors to obtain the correct information.
  6. Return dictated reports in electronic or printed form for radiologists /physician’s review, signature, and corrections and for inclusion in patient’s medical records.
  7. Responsible for entering Clinical History, Physicians/Radiologists diagnostic reports in to the HMS.
  8. Responsible for Cross checking & verifying unique reference number of each patient reference forms.
  9. Ensure the confidentiality of the contents of the reports transcribed.
  10. Works week-ends and holidays according to the schedule compiled by the head of department.
  11. Strictly adheres to organization’s regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, EHSMS, HAAD, JCI and ISO.
  12. Supports Continuous Quality Improvement and participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the service.
  13. Participates and contributes in scheduled in-service training programs, In house activities or other programs as requested.
  14. Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, associates and Management.
  15. Maintains confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
  16. Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
  17. Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
  18. Carries out other duties when requested by the Head of department.

4.1 Qualification : Graduate

4.2 Experience : At least 2 years as Medical Transcriptionist.

4.3 Skill set : Ability to transcribe medical/audio files with 100% quality.

4.4 Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not mandatory.
