LOGCAP – Transient Alert Team Member

Louis Berger Services is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill positions for ‘Transient Team Alert Member’ on Al Asad and Erbil, Iraq in support of the LOGCAP 5 contract.

Facilitate Prior Permission Required (PPR) requests, coordinate with Airfield Manager and provide daily “Parking Plan” snapshot briefing. Enter Prior Permission Require (PPR) information data log, and update parking plan as appropriate to mission change.

  • Coordinates transient aircraft parking spots with civil airport authorities or with local assigned flying units as per the PPR log.
  • Meet aircraft upon arrival with a follow-me vehicle to guide aircraft to assigned parking locations.
  • Use international hand signals or hand signals located in OPNAVINST 00-80T-13 marshal aircraft into assigned parking, accounting for obstacle obstruction and minimum wingtip clearances.
  • Position and connect aircraft ground power unit (GPU) to aircraft.
  • Chock aircraft wheels, position fire extinguisher and stand fireguard during refueling operations.
  • Provide ground support equipment assistance (maintenance stands, power carts, etc.)
  • Pin landing gears when required.
  • Coordinate LOX (liquid Oxygen)/ Nitrogen Service for transient aircraft with Airfield Management and on site Gas Plant Team.
  • Stand fireguard during engine start sequence.
  • Remove landing gear pins, chocks and disconnect the Ground power unit (GPU) when ready to taxi.
  • Using international hand signals or hand signals located in OPNAVINST 00-80T-13 marshal aircraft out of assigned parking accounting for obstacle obstruction and minimum wingtip clearances
  • Perform daily FOD (foreign object debris) checks on Aircraft Parking Ramps and taxiways.
  • Coordinate and assist lavatory service trucks.
  • Computer literate, good command of the English language.
  • experience operating ground support equipment (GPU), Airstaris, Lavatory Service Truck or hand cart.
  • experience as an aircraft tug operator (assist with) towing aircraft and operate lavatory servicing trucks

  • experience with international marshalling hand signals.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain an airfield driving license.

  • HS diploma Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license in order to obtain a US Government issued and airfield driver’s license
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a commercial driver license (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement
  • Must have a minimum of 1 (one) year flight line, ground handling, or FAA equivalent with required certifications Must meet all training, qualifications, and certification requirements (Federal, DoD, State, and local) in performance of the job duties Experience performing aircraft servicer duties, including transient alert services and refuel/defuel services Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is preferred. Shift work (24X7 Support) Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
  • There is a great deal of standing, climbing, bending and stooping
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Work is performed primarily outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise, exhaust fumes, and various types of chemicals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year actual and recent experience of organizational level aircraft, including but not limited to AIRBUS 310/330, A400M, AV-8, A10, B-1, B-2, B52, B707, B747, B-757, B-767, C-2, C-8, C-10, C-17, C-20, C-21, C-26, C-27, C-30, C-32, C-37, C-46, C-40, C-130, C-135, CESSNA, CE 550, CH47, CH53, CH124, CN235, DC-10, EA-18, E-3A/B/D/G, E-4, E-6/EA6, E-7, E-8, FALCON 200, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-22, KC-10, and KC-135 maintenance.
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must possess passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages (front and back) remaining
  • Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity

Working Environment

  • Duties will involve work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures up to 130F degrees in the summer months.
  • Must be able to work overhead with arms raised for extended periods.
  • Working environment is located within a conflict zone in Iraq
