The UHealth Connect Department at Medley has several exciting opportunities for Patient Access Representatives – UHealth Call Center (Florida Remote).
The individual in this position is part of the UHealthConnect Contact center and will be responsible for supporting functions that assist in creating and driving a culture of empathy, service excellence and delivery of patient centered care that impacts the patient experience across the UHealth System. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for scheduling and registering patients for appointments within the University of Miami Health System. Success in this position requires the ability to utilize the EPIC scheduling system to search for appointments across multiple physicians, resources, specialties and sites while utilizing expertise in medical triage and understanding of government and commercial insurance requirements to ensure patients are scheduled with the appropriate provider within a convenient time frame. This position supports the Medical school’s vision, mission, goals and objectives by providing patient-centric access to our world renowned medical care.
Perform other duties as assigned based on departmental needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish, English/Creole, English/French, English/Arabic) a plus.
- Must possess excellent, critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer service skills.
- Excellent mathematical and cash management skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Ability to work as an integral team member under minimal supervision, in a fast-paced, complex and highly stressful environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with physicians, co-workers, other departments and patients of all ages, and from across a broad range of cultural and social economic backgrounds.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Experience Requirements:
One (1) year experience in a healthcare related setting. One (1) year experience in a call center setting. One (1) year customer service experience . Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
Pay Range: $14.25 – $16.50 (Depending on Experience)
