As Program Officer you are responsible for the following main tasks, variety of independence is depending on the seniority:
- Supporting partner organisations in the project cycle, including project design and reporting;
- Quality assurance of GBV programming of partner organisations to ensure adherence to GBV minimum standards and development of innovative GBV programming;
- Assisting in monitoring the implementation of partner activities and support the reporting of country-level initiatives both in terms of results and budget;
- Assisting the provision of technical support to partners to build their capacities.
- Preparing proposals and reports to donors, and making appropriate; recommendations on the programme’s progress and further development;
- Supporting in organising experience exchanges, study trips/visits and networking meetings to enhance quality programming and implementation;
- Carrying out interpretation/translation work when needed;
Terms and conditions
Work time: Full-time position starting as soon as possible to 31 December 2022 (including three months of probation).
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Location: Erbil.
This is a national position under KRG labor legislation.

Education and competencies
- Preferably bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Gender Studies, Political Science, Human Rights or any other related field;
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience in relation to GBV programming in Iraq; other programming experience in women’s human rights, gender equality issues, women’s empowerment, women’s political activism and/or organisational development is an asset;
- In-depth experience in project cycle management and in planning, monitoring and evaluation (PME), and proven experience of identifying and providing capacity building to local NGOs;
- Good understanding of human rights and the application of a rights-based approach in development cooperation;
- Strong analytical skills and as well as proficiency in Microsoft office;
- Valid driving license;
- Experience of working in/or knowledge of the region, particularly Iraq;
- Languages: Excellent written and spoken Arabic and Kurdish; good working level of spoken and written English.
- Ability to travel 3-6 times a year, including overnight stays, in Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Government of Iraq areas, depending on the security situation) as well as 2-5 times within the MENA region to attend internal and external meetings and workshops.
