Summary:
Build market position by: locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. Successful job execution requires excellence in all aspects of the sales process: from the development and execution of business plans, establishment/achievement of sales targets, and after the sale follow-up. This position will be responsible for driving revenue through customer development, but will also require close collaboration with all field sales touch points, marketing, and customer service. The primary focus of this position is on independent retail and small retail chain operators within a given marketplace, driving high, profitable volume through distribution. Significant travel with in Chicago region is expected and required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary focus is on the sale of products to the multitude of independent and small retail operations in Chicago that utilize our products. The representative will need to find, open and then maintain the retail account by visiting and servicing them weekly by taking orders.

Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.

Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.

Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.

Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals.

Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating pricing agreements and contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.

Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Career development encouraged using outside training resources.

Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

This position will call on retail sales operators only, no broker management or distribution management will be required to call on.

This position may work with brokers or distributor sales representatives calling on large leverage operators.

. Requirements:
Education

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience

  • 5 + year’s industry experience
  • Previous experience in CPG industry preferred.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Market knowledge

Skills/Abilities

  • Sales planning, selling to customer needs, territory management, presentation skills, prospecting skills and strong closing skills.
  • Motivated and result driven
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual in Arabic, Russian, South Asian and CPG sales experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

Other

  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with appropriate auto insurance.
