Your Impact

As an Associate Data Engineer, you will join a team that is building a consumer marketing database that will be used across Hearst Magazines and the Resin platform. You will leverage a modern data stack, with a particular focus managing the codebase of our Looker infrastructure, which powers business intelligence, customer segmentation, and data activation. And you will have the opportunity to play a critical part in the digital transformation of a world-leading media company.
You will:
Work with an established data engineering team within an Agile/SCRUM development environment.
Build data models and manage a codebase in LookML that supports both internal and external (client) business use-cases.
Leverage the resources of a successful, well-known business combined with the nimbleness and forward-looking feel of a startup.
You have:
Knowledge of Looker (and LookML) and what is required to successfully scale a Looker installation to both internal and external users.
If not Looker, expert Tableau, Domo, Power BI or other similar experience is a must.
Experience working with ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
Expert or strong fluency with SQL, and experience working with relational databases, query authoring, as well as familiarity with a variety of databases.
Strong analytical skills related to working with both structured and unstructured datasets.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
2+ years of experience in a SQL analyst or Data Engineer role, with B.S./M.S. in Data Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
