Balance of Plant / Rotating Equipment Engineer

Wood is currently recruiting for a Balance of Plant / Rotating Equipment Engineer on a 4×4 rotational basis for one of our projects located in Iraq.

  • Support and oversee WQ1 35 MW multidiscipline team , including Solar Field Service Representative
  • Daily attendance at the 35MW power plant power station (primary work site)
    • On request , rotating equipment support at other WQ1 Stations (secondary worksites)
  • Maintain communications maintenance & operations management
  • Assist and guide planning and execution of power plant interventions and facility upgrades
  • Plan, update and oversees all activities at primary & (upon request) secondary areas of responsibility according to the laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures. Special emphasis must be placed on health, safety, and the environment
  • Develop and maintain open communications on 35MW issues (for example, safe work practices, training, materials, and others) with peers and technicians
  • Report incidents both internally and externally (as per the Reporting Matrix) and escalate awareness as per the Incident Reporting Guidelines
  • Adhere to approved 35 MW work plans, schedule and daily activities to maximize work teams effectiveness
  • Provide technical evaluations of material, equipment and maintenance procedures
  • Provide input into the training department on curriculum and selection of personnel for training.

  • 15 years plus experience in Maintenance (multidiscipline) Operations – required
  • Degree preferred (or equivalents). Minimum HNC or equivalent
  • Full Member of recognized professional institute preferred
  • Previous Iraq experience highly preferable

  • Excellent communications (oral & written) in English, Arabic an advantage
  • Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others
  • Ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment

  • Previously worked in a Turbine & Balance of Plant Engineering (maintenance) role (preferred , or able to demonstrate experience on similar systems)
