About the Position:
The Client Service Support Worker provides hands on service delivery support to ACT Case Managers and vulnerable immigrants and refugees to access ACT service to achieve their settlement and integration goals. The Client Service Support Worker is also responsible for providing client support during life skills group sessions and field trips to ensure the program functions for service delivery.
Reports to: Senior Program Manager
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides assistance to clients with their transportation support when they access ACT service
Provides assistance in preparing the classroom, instructional materials and refreshments when clients attend the ACT life skills group program
Provides assistance in making copies of resources or program materials to clients
Maintains office and classroom supplies for client service delivery and facility needs
Arranges physical setup for service delivery
Provides language support to clients during life skill group sessions when required
Ensures all services meet the accreditation standards
Attends supervision and team meetings
Attends division staff meeting and training opportunities as required
Works closely with staff members of other S.U.C.C.E.S.S. divisions/offices in providing joint support to individuals and families
Performs other tasks as assigned by Senior Program Manager and/or Program Director
Qualifications & Experience:
Post-secondary education
Demonstrates understanding and knowledge about vulnerable immigrant population
Demonstrates experiences working with diverse vulnerable immigrant population
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in cross-cultural communication and service methods appropriate to clients with low literacy and low English skills
Job Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; second language in Arabic, Spanish, or Farsi to perform language-specific service is an asset
Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills
A good team player with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and basic internet skills
Multi-tasking and flexible
Other Requirements:
Criminal Record Check(Vulnerable Sector) Required
Able to work evenings and weekends as required
Able to travel occasionally
Eligible to work in Canada
