LOCATION: Erbil, Iraq

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

BAT Iraqia is hiring a high caliber, ambitious accountant to support the financial accounting team on their daily tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The role is on a temporary basis until the end of 2021.

Reports to: Finance Manager

Reporting Level: Mid-senior

Geographic Scope: Iraq

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Validate and process invoices, credit notes into the appropriate systems and within the agreed time
• Monthly reconciliation with suppliers
• Perform customer payment posting and payment clearing
• Contribute to record to report task inclusive of General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Reconciliations, Month End Close
• Provide excellent support to other functions in Iraq as well as external parties in relation to accounts payable, with the ability to build productive relationships, resolve complex issues
• Address ad-hoc requests in a timely, accurate and professional manner

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• At least 1 year working experience in Finance and Accounting & good knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
• Bachelor’s degree in related fields
• Good command of English spoken and written
• Ability to communicate at all levels and apply high professional standards
• Good numerical and analytical skills; Excel is a must
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Able to help, guide or explain things to others
• Motivation and ambition with strong teamwork capabilities
