On behalf of a client, Kurdish Advisory Group is in search of a Government Relations Consultant to support the team with the two branches of legislative and executive of USG. The successful candidate will have the required skills, expertise and experience building, executing and developing the public relations activities as well as provide guidance in working with the various USG institutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with the team, internally as well as externally.
The position reports to the CEO and will be a member of an organizational team focused primarily on providing political navigation and relationship management with key USG institutions and organizations.
This role is best for candidates located close to Washington DC.
Duties and responsibilities
- Independently develop, execute and monitor a coordinated government relations strategy / plan and political stakeholder analysis.
- Actively monitor and provide analysis on key government legislations and opportunities
- Work closely with the team in identifying key institutions and agencies within target areas based on the developed strategy
- Arrange and secure regular meetings with legislative and executive branches of USG
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding Kurdish politics and of current political developments, stakeholders, and USG priorities, and be knowledgeable with respect to agency operations. Prior government service and/or experience is highly preferred. This individual will be able to operate with autonomy and accountability and work collaboratively with assigned team.
Minimum Education Required: Master Degree in international relations, political science, Middle Eastern studies or similar fields.
