Information Technology Services Operations Manager

DUTIES:

  • Provide oversight and coordination of operations for PAE IT Infrastructure in Iraq.
  • Coordinate with PAE IT Field Services (ITFS), who provide remote management, periodic onsite support, and oversight of PAE Iraq information systems.
  • Accomplish department objectives by managing staff PAE IT staff across multiple PAE locations in Iraq, including Union III, Baghdad Embassy Compound, and Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, including travel to these locations as needed.
  • Ensure client functionality for PAE business applications, including Maximo, Blackboard, GuestTracker, FleetMate and other systems.
  • Ensure that IT services provided to DoS and DoD are completed in accordance with Task Order requirements. Services include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Cable and Satellite TV service
    • Fiber Optic and Ethernet infrastructure cabling, including OSP and ISP
    • Printer and Copy Machine servicing and maintenance
    • VTC Teleconferencing and multimedia video and audio presentation and display support.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and facilitating employee training.
  • Ensures a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
  • Develop personal growth opportunities for the IT Staff.
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and IT operational standards.
  • Maintain, analyze, and review IT related services subcontracts, maintenance agreements, warranties, and site licenses, including managing Internet Service Provider contracts at multiple locations.
  • Coordinate required and/necessary hardware, software and systems updates from vendors.
  • Facilitate, oversee, and assist with the installation, testing, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting of all PAE hardware, software and communications systems products.
  • Oversee and monitor the timely resolution of user service desk/help desk tickets to include service requests, problem resolution and requests for new or replacement equipment.
  • Manage and protect company IT assets as well as GFE.
  • Manage, secure and perform data backup (full, incremental or differential) stored on servers, data storage devices, desktop and laptop computers
  • Document, update and maintain systems and network configurations.
  • Provide regular status reports to management and input for senior briefings.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:

Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:

Five (5) years of management experience working in the field of Information Systems Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong management skills.

  • Ability to act independently.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, researching skills, strong Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
  • Experience providing excellent customer services.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.

Education: Bachelor’s in information Management (BIM) or Equivalent Experience

Passport, Licenses and Certifications:

  • As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts, candidates must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.
  • Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance be able to obtain a favorable US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.

Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.

Citizenship: Must meet requirements to obtain US Government clearance as outlined.

Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by PAE and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:

Information Technology Industry Certifications from organizations such as Microsoft, Cisco CompTIA, ISC2, and similar.

Previous out of home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.

Experience working with PAE.

WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:

This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
