Interpreter-Qualified CAT II – Arabic
POSITION DESCRIPTION: PAE National Security Solutions (NSS) is seeking an Interpreter-Qualified CAT II (Arabic Language) to support the Joint Foreign Materiel Program (JFMP) Office and Captured Materiel Exercises, Engagements and Operations located at U.S. Marine Corps Base Quantico.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Will provide language support services in specified languages (Arabic)and dialects.
Will provide translation, transcription, interpretation, and related language services to U.S. government personnel.
Linguist Category II Linguist will provide interpretation, transcription, and translation services in support of ongoing and new U.S. training requirements in CENTCOM, EUCOM, PACOM, and SOUTHCOM.
Provide advice on cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, and documents.
Accurately scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents.
Conduct other related tasks as assigned.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a proficiency in Arabic language and English speaking, writing, and interpretation at the Level 2/2 of Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR)-Native proficiency preferred.
5 years’ experience in required field.
Extensive knowledge native language culture with previous work in the region-Native familiarity preferred.
Experience interpreting required language into English (Arabic <>English).
Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in standard dialect and vocabulary rarely requiring the need for paraphrasing or explanation.
Familiarity with the local culture and customs with the ability to operate within the local populace.
Well-organized, punctual, reliable and conscientious, and capable of managing resources and schedules to affect deadlines.
Prior experience working in classified setting.
Demonstrate a proactive approach, attention to detail, multi-tasker, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with Customer staff and program team.
Familiarity with travel order processing procedures.
